Birds Seen at Kent Park the during the last 2 weeks of May 2018

Canada Goose, Wood Duck, Red-tailed Hawk, Mourning Dove, Great Horned Owl, Red-headed Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Great Crested Flycatcher, Red-eyed Vireo, Blue Jay, American Crow, Barn Swallow, Black-capped Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, House Wren, Wood Thrush, American Robin, Gray Catbird, Brown Thrasher, European Starling, Cedar Waxwing, Black-and-white Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, American Redstart, Blackpoll Warbler, Chipping Sparrow, Field Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Eastern Towhee, Northern Cardinal, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Indigo Bunting, Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, Orchard Oriole, Baltimore Oriole, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbird, Common Grackle, and American Goldfinch.

Only a few birds on this list are migrants that are passing through Iowa [Black-and-white and Blackpoll Warblers]. As birds progress from defending territories to caring for young they become quieter and with leaves nearly fully out, they become harder to see.
